Can Gold be Scratched?
It is important to note that gold is a soft, malleable metal that can be easily scratched or dented, especially gold with higher karats such as 22 Karat or 24 Karat gold.
18K Gold v. 14K Gold

GIA-graded diamonds are not necessarily higher-grade than non-GIA-graded diamonds; it means that the diamonds have undergone GIA's strict observations to achieve the most accurate and unbiased grading of their qualities through the 4Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight.
Natural Diamond v. Lab-Grown Diamond v. Moissanite
Natural Diamonds: These are mined straight from the earth and are ranked 10 on the Mohs' hardness scale; they are classic, traditional, and great long-term investments. However, they are expensive, and their mining has recently raised environmental concerns.
Lab-Grown Diamonds: These are compositionally and physically similar to naturally-formed diamonds but grown in a lab, as the name suggests, offering a more eco-friendly and budget-friendly alternative to natural diamonds.
Moissanite: These rank 9.25-9.5 on the Mohs' hardness scale and have a higher refractive index than diamonds, meaning that they are much more sparkly than diamonds. Moissanite is also more affordable and eco-friendly than lab-grown diamonds.
